Pilgrims arrive in Barcelona according to their flight schedules. The pilgrimage officially begins with a welcome gathering at 6pm followed by dinner (included). Overnight at Hotel Denit, Barcelona.

Today is a full day of touring in Barcelona with focus on modern art and architecture. We’ll begin with the architectural marvel of Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia Cathedral. Then we’ll see several other of Gaudi’s and modernist buildings including Casa Mile and the Block of Discord. We’ll have some free time to stroll the La Rambla and have lunch (on your own). Then we’ll reconvene for a short stop at the Barcelona Cathedral before a late afternoon visit at the Picasso Museum. Dinner tonight is on your own. Overnight at Hotel Denit, Barcelona. 

We begin with a free morning in the city of Barcelona. In the late morning we will transfer to the Barcelona airport for a short flight to Santiago de Compostela. From there we will have a private transfer to the town of Sarria. There you'll have a few hours of free time to settle in or pick up any last minute supplies before dinner (included) and an overnight at La Casona de Sarria.

Today's journey takes you on a scenic walk of 21.9 km (13.1 miles) from Sarria to Portomarin, offering beautiful views of the Galician countryside. After a fulfilling day on the trail, you'll arrive in Portomarin, where dinner awaits, followed by an overnight at Hotel Ferramenteiro, Portomarin.

Today's adventure involves a 24.2 km (15 miles) walk from Portomarin to Palas de Rei, traversing through the charming villages along the way. This part of the journey offers a deeper connection to the Camino experience, with opportunities to enjoy the peaceful scenery and local culture. Enjoy dinner and a restful overnight stay at Balneario Rio Pambre, Palas de Rei.

Today, we walk 29 km (18 miles) from Palas de Rei to Arzua, taking you through the heart of Galicia's countryside, with its rolling hills and quaint hamlets. The journey is long but rewarding, providing a deeper sense of accomplishment and connection to the Camino. Arriving in Arzua, for dinner and an overnight stay at 1930 Boutique Hotel, prepare you for the next leg of your pilgrimage. 

Today's journey is a 17.5 km (10.9 miles) walk from Arzua to Rua, passing through serene landscapes and small villages. This shorter distance allows for a more relaxed pace, providing time to soak in the peaceful surroundings and enjoy the companionship of fellow pilgrims. Upon arrival in Rua, you'll enjoy dinner and a restful overnight stay at HolaCamp Camino.

Today's walk covers 20.5 km (12.7 miles) from Rua to Santiago de Compostela, marking the final stretch of your pilgrimage. As you approach the city, there's a sense of excitement and accomplishment. In Santiago de Compostela, you'll celebrate with a group dinner and spend the night at the Anglican Pilgrim Centre, reflecting on the journey and the experiences along the way. 

Enjoy a free day to rest and explore Santiago on your own. Or join a day trip to Finisterre, a scenic peninsula on the western edge of Spain, believed by ancient Romans to be the end of the world. (Optional, additional cost.) Finisterre is a traditional addition to the Camino de Santiago as it is itself a threshold between land and sea. Dinner tonight is on your own. Overnight in Santiago de Compostela (at Anglican Pilgrim Centre).

We start the day with an English Pilgrim Mass at 10:30am at the Cathedral of St. James, if the train schedule allows. After the service, we'll have a 3 hour train trip from Santiago to Madrid. The day concludes with a closing dinner and an overnight stay at Emperador Hotel, Madrid.

The pilgrimage officially ends after breakfast this morning. Pilgrims may return to the airport at their leisure, extend their stay in Madrid, or continue with onward travel.
